World of tanks ranked Season II: Join the Fray!

Are you ready  to open a new chapter in your challenging journey through one of the most competitive modes in World of Tanks?

Ranked Battles Season II kicks off on October 28, and will be noticeably different from the previous one. Last Season turned out to be too challenging, even for skilled players, so we’ve taken measures to improve it based on your feedback and our statistics. Let’s roll!

Season Dates
October 28, 2019, 09:00 CET – November 18, 2019, 09:00 CET

Prime-Times
Weekdays:
14:00 to 02:00 CET (EU1 server)
Weekends:
10:00 to 02:00 CET (EU1 server)

As before, you will have 21 days of epic clashes in Tier X vehicles. Your battle journey begins with Qualification and passes through Divisions to Leagues, bringing you tons of valuable in-game items and paving your way to the ultimate reward for all three Seasons—the Kampfpanzer 50 t, a unique Tier IX German medium tank which is exclusive to Ranked Battles. We’ve slightly revised the progression system, making it simpler and more achievable, so the struggle for the main prize won’t be so exhausting and grindy. Let’s take a closer look.

World of tanks ranked: Qualification and Bonus Battles

In the previous Season, Qualification looked like a full-fledged Division, and there were no Bonus Battles in it. To get into the third Division, you had to earn at least 39 chevrons. In the new Season, Qualification will consist of a fixed number of battles: 20 in total. Both victories and defeats will be counted in your personal standings.

The system of Bonus Battles will not change. However, you will have the opportunity to get additional Bonus Battles for earned chevrons. You will receive them every time you move to the next Division. Check it out:

Qualification

Effectiveness* for Qualification, Divisions 2, 3 Chevrons gained in Qualification** Effectiveness for Division 1
1. Less than 10%—2 Bonus Battles

2. 10–20%—3 Bonus Battles

3. 20–40%—4 Bonus Battles

4. 40–60%—5 Bonus Battles

5. 60–90%—6 Bonus Battles

6. 90–120%—7 Bonus Battles

7. 120–160%—8 Bonus Battles

8. 160–250%—9 Bonus Battles

9. 250–400%—10 Bonus Battles

1. 3–5 chevrons—1 Bonus Battle

2. 6–10 chevrons—2 Bonus Battles

3. 11–20 chevrons—3 Bonus Battles

4. 21–30 chevrons—4 Bonus Battles

5. 31–40 chevrons—5 Bonus Battles

1. Less than 10%—5 Bonus Battles

2. 10–20%—8 Bonus Battles

3. 20–40%—10 Bonus Battles

4. 40–60%—13 Bonus Battles

5. 60–90%—15 Bonus Battles

6. 90–120%—18 Bonus Battles

7. 120–160%—20 Bonus Battles

8. 160–250%—23 Bonus Battles

9. 250% and more—25 Bonus Battles

This is the main parameter demonstrating how effective you are in Ranked Battles. The fewer fights you lose and the more chevrons you get for each battle, the higher the value of your effectiveness.

** These Bonus Battles will be added at the start of every Division

Revamped Progression System

We’ve also revised the number of chevrons in Divisions. Last Season, their number was the same in all Divisions. Now, the lower the Division, the fewer chevrons it brings.

In addition, we added the following permanent Ranks to the middle of each Division:

  • Fifth, ninth and twelfth ranks in the third Division
  • Seventh and eleventh in the second Division
  • Ninth in the first Division

The twelfth rank in the first Division and the thirteenth in the second one will receive the status of Rank Shields. This means that at these Ranks you keep the chevron, even if you didn’t get into the top 5 players of the losing team by experience earned. Check it out:

All these changes in progression will simplify your combat journey and help you reach the top of the ladder faster.

Role Experience Rebalancing

The role experience system has also received some balance changes. In the previous Season, particular vehicles were performing roles that weren’t intended for them. For example, FV 4005 often played as a heavy assault tank, gaining role experience for blocking damage. In the current meta, this tank destroyer has brittle armor and a long reload time, which makes it hardly suited to the role of a frontline brawler. In the new Season, this vehicle will earn role experience in accordance with the features of its gameplay.

Learn more about other changes to the role experience system in the table below.

  • Defender
  • Breakthrough Tank
  • Fire Cover
  • Light Attack Vehicle
  • Heavy Destroyer
  • High-Caliber Support
  • Sniper
  • Tracked Scout
  • Wheeled Scout
  • Artillery

Primarily, the role of heavy tanks is to force fronts and hold superior enemies at bay. These slow, and in most cases well-protected, vehicles can block significant amounts of damage using their thick armor rationally.

Role actions:

  • Blocking damage and trading off HP
  • Dealing damage from a distance less than 300 meters

Typical representatives:

VEHICLE NATION VEHICLES
U.S.S.R. IS-4, Object 705A
Germany Maus, E100, PzKpfw VII, VK 72.01 (k)
France AMX M4 mle. 54
Japan Type 5 Heavy

Depending on your results across all three Seasons, you can earn the ultimate reward: the Kampfpanzer 50 t—a uniqueTier IX German medium tank, which is exclusive to Ranked Battles. It’s a maneuverable status vehicle with well-sloped armor, great dynamics and a good combination of alpha damage and DPM. One of its most striking features is its extravagant design, unusual for German tanks.
